Hues for Humanity Fort McMurray 2021

Posted by: Mike Jones

On Saturday, August 28th Your McMurray Magazine was stoked to head to the Birchwood Trails to add a little colour to Fort McMurray. In case you saw runners looking like pixies it was likely due to the Hues For Humanity colour run! This volunteer-run event is now in its 6th year.

DJ Q-Pid blasted the tunes early and runners ran through a series of stations featuring different colours thrown at them by volunteers and local businesses. It’s not all about fun though – it’s about supporting urgently needed education programs for children living in poverty across the world in countries like Ethiopia, Malawi and Guatemala.

Some ran, some jogged, others walked strollers through the course. Heck, there was even a puppy or two willing to get a little colour! Huge thanks to everyone who came out and high fived us at the Your McMurray Magazine station and a big shoutout to the Fort McMurray Monarchs for keeping everyone safe!

The event will return next year on Saturday, June 4th!
