Government Relations and Special Projects
Born and raised in Alberta, Sarah Magee has spent her career finding pragmatic solutions to complicated challenges. A highly adaptable problem solver, she has 10 years of experience in operations, communications, and government relations that she brings to the table for her clients in both northern Alberta and Ottawa.
A graduate of the University of Calgary with a degree in political science, she began working in advocacy with the Calgary-based Think Tank, the Canadian Global Affairs Institute, in 2007. Building on her knowledge of media relations, event management and relationship building, she stepped into the role of Direction of Operations to the Attorney General at Queen’s Park in Toronto where she served until the 2018 general election.
Since then, she has been gathering experience and knowledge in as many spaces as possible, including working with Canada’s Competition Bureau, examining competition within Canada’s oil and gas sector and advancing their parliamentary outreach. She also led the communications team for the Toronto Region Board of Trade, and Toronto chapter of the World Trade Centre’s, virtual Recovery Summit Series that took place from 2020 to 2021.
Today, she is constantly searching for opportunities to change the world. Splitting her time between Alberta and Ottawa, she is beyond excited to work with the incredible people in the great city of Fort McMurray as part of the Balsom Communications Team. The opportunity to be a part of Canada’s economic engine, build community, and deliver outstanding events is what gets her out of bed in the morning.
A lover of books, travel and mountains, Sarah can’t wait until she can start exploring the world again
